New Delhi: Wrestlers agitating against BJP MP and Wrestling Association president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh have agreed to meet Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. However, the wrestlers have made it clear that they do not approve of anything less than the arrest of Brij Bhushan Singh. "We will see what the government offers us," wrestler Sakshi Malik told the media. Our main demand is the arrest of Brij Bhushan. If we like the government's proposal, we will consult Khap leaders. We will not accept the XYZ proposal of the government. We will not end our agitation.

In fact, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had called the wrestlers for discussion. He himself gave this news by tweeting on Tuesday. "I have once again invited the wrestlers for this. Earlier, on June 3, the wrestlers met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday night. After this meeting, the government has once again called the wrestlers to discuss their issues."

According to sources, the wrestler can put three demands in front of Sports Minister Anurag Thakur:

1- Brij Bhushan should be arrested.
2- The game of wrestling in India should be clearly improved.
3- Free and fair elections of WFI.

Earlier on June 5, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat returned to their jobs in the railways. However, the wrestlers had made it clear that they would continue the agitation till the women wrestlers get justice. Bharatiya Kisan Union and khap leaders have called off the protest called at Jantar Mantar on June 9 in support of the wrestlers. Farmer union spokesman Rakesh Tikait said that the government has started discussions with the protesting wrestlers, so our protest has been canceled. Rakesh Tikait said that based on the outcome of the discussion between the wrestlers and the government, the future strategy will be decided and the opposition will be held. Rakesh Tikait said that this protest is to support the wrestlers. Therefore, the next date of protest will be announced based on the action to be taken by the wrestlers.
