Due to Corona selling expensive sanitizers and useless face masks at many places, the cognizance taken by the Punjab and Haryana High Court was heard before the Bench of the Chief Justice of the High Court. Affidavits have been filed in the High Court on behalf of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh. In which it has been said that under the guidelines issued by the Union Home Ministry, it is ensuring that the sanitizer does not sell at a much higher price and inferior face mask.

According to the direction of the court, he has also taken samples by red taxing in chemist shop and other shops and has also taken action against the guilty people, and this proceeding will continue. After hearing all the parties, the High Court disposed of the petition, stating that the government is doing the right thing in this case, and there is no need to issue directions to the court.

Taking cognizance in this case, the court had directed the secretaries of the Food Department of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh to ensure that no sanitizer of 500 mL of manufacturing date after March 21, 2020 is priced above Rs 250. For this, the High Court had given instructions to make sure by redressing the chemist shop. The High Court had taken cognizance in one case that such complaints are being received continuously in many places, that the hand sanitizer is sold at an expensive price.
