New Delhi: The government is brainstorming with the presiding officers of both the Houses of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to start the monsoon session of Parliament soon. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu has indicated this in an article 'Media: Our Partner in Corona Times' posted on social networking website Facebook on Sunday.

Venkaiah Naidu said that the government has recently held talks with the presiding officers of both the houses to convene the monsoon session. Naidu said that the budget session of Parliament ended on 23 March. It is necessary to convene a session of Parliament to discuss the crisis of the corona epidemic. Until the last day of the budget session, the MPs wanted to talk about this crisis. There is also a constitutional provision to make the meeting of Parliament compulsory within 6 months.

The Rajya Sabha speaker said that there have been many occasions between him and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for calling the monsoon session and the meeting of parliamentary committees amid the Corona epidemic. The two Presiding Officers have churned out the methods of complying with mutually safe distance standards, arranging the sitting of MPs and deliberations.
