New Delhi: A major decision has been taken recently in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The cabinet has announced to give Diwali bonus to 30 lakh government employees. The decisions of the cabinet have recently been given by Union Minister Prakash Javadekar. He informed, 'Money will be directly transferred to the accounts of employees through DBT ie Direct Benefit Transfer'.

Apart from this, he also told, 'Before Dussehra or Durga Puja, the transfer of a bonus of Rs 3737 crore to 30 lakh central government employees will start immediately.' Prakash Javadekar also said, 'The productivity-related bonus and non-productivity linked bonus has been approved by the Cabinet for the financial year 2019-20. This decision of the Central Government will benefit more than 30 lakh non-gazetted employees of the government. This will put an additional burden of Rs 3,737 crore on the fiscal treasury. '

In the last week, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the introduction of Special Festival Advance Scheme for government employees. She had said that through this, employees will be able to take 10 thousand rupees in advance. Considering the impact of Covid 19 on the economy, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also announced a special LTC cash scheme. It is being said that the benefit of this will be given to the Central Government employees.
