New Delhi: The important three-day meeting of the GST Council, commencing from today, to discuss on the tax rate and sort out issues like compensation formula for rollout of the new indirect tax regime from April 1, 2017.
22 November was decided by the finance ministry as the deadline for building agreement on all the issues in the Council. So, the meeting will decide the most crucial aspects.
Area-based exemptions and how 11 states will be treated under the new tax regime have been finalised by the GST Council in its previous meeting.
