Today is the birthday of Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who was one of Team India's best openers. He has turned 39 today. He was born on 14 October 1981 in Delhi on this day. He is from a business class family. His father Deepak Gambhir has a textile business. But he left the business and adopted cricket.

Gautam Gambhir started playing cricket only at the age of 10. After which he made his debut for Team India at the age of 22. Gautam Gambhir has so far played 147 ODIs and 37 T20 matches besides playing 58 Test matches. Gambhir last played T20 against Pakistan in December 2012. After this, in 2016, he was included in the Test team in 1–1 matches against New Zealand and then England.

Gambhir also has several records in which Gautam Gambhir is one of only Indian and four international cricketers who have scored hundreds in five consecutive Test matches. He is the only Indian batsman to score more than 300 runs in four consecutive Test series. With this, he has made many records.
