Harda: Sudip Patel, son of BJP MLA Kamal Patel from Harda district of Madhya Pradesh, has been taken into custody on Thursday for threatening to kill Congress leader Sukhram Bamne. "The police today arrested Sudip Patel for threatening to kill Congress leader Sukhram Bamne by phone," said Bhagwat Singh Birde, SP, Harda district.
He said that after his arrest, he was produced before the Special Court in Harda, where the police asked the court to remand him to judicial custody by June 28 to record his statement and gather other evidence. Sudip Patel is the vice-president at Khirkia Janpad. Harda's Sub-Departmental Officer Police (SDOP) Mahendra Kumar Malviya has informed that the police have launched a complaint against Sudip Patel on the Tahrir of Congress leader Sukhram Bamne, Section 506 (intimidation), 294, 509, 120 and SC/ST.I. The case was registered under the ST Act at Harda police station on 28th April this year.
In the complaint, Bamne had said that Sudip had threatened to kill him over the phone on April 28 and had spoken indecent about his wife. Bamne had also given audio recording to the police as evidence. It may be mentioned that Congress leader Sukhram Bamne wrote in his Facebook post about the loan of MLA Kamal Patel's wife, which was later heard in Sudip and Bamne. Sudip later threatened to kill him on the phone.
