Lucknow: A day before the first phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given an interview to ANI, which has now been targeted by the leaders of opposition parties. Senior Congress leader and former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat has posted a video attacking PM Modi on India's only multilingual micro-blogging platform 'Koo.'

Harish Rawat has said that there is a huge difference between what PM Modi says and what is true. His party BJP had no role in the country's freedom struggle, so there is always an attempt to mislead Congress. It's not our fault. At the same time, Samajwadi Party (SP) spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand questioned the credibility of the Election Commission. He wrote on Koo, 'Hello, Hello EC. You must have seen Modiji's election interview.  Now get it to vote tomorrow, the rest you can't.'

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) spokesperson Rohit Agarwal also raised questions on PM Modi's interview a day before voting. He said "The BJP is constantly looking for new ways to influence the elections. Uttar Pradesh has the first round of polling. The interview of the Hon'ble Prime Minister is an open violation of the Election Code of Conduct.''
