Chandigarh: Retired IAS officer TC Gupta, accused in haryana's famous Manesar land scammer, has been given the post of commissioner in the Right to Service Commission by the Khattar government. He has been sworn in as CM Manohar Lal Khattar. Surprisingly, the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) had recently named TC Gupta as an accused in its status report and said that investigations are still going on against him.

According to a status report sent by the CBI to the Haryana government on May 31, TC Gupta is still an accused in the case and is under investigation. The chargesheet also includes the name of TC Gupta. But even after that, he has been appointed commissioner of the Right to Service Commission, ignoring the CBI's status report.

The committee to appoint the commissioner includes Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar as well as former CM and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda as the leader of the opposition, the main accused in the Manesar land scam. TC Gupta was the then director of the Country and Town Planning Department at the time of manesar land scam.
