New Delhi: The Supreme Court has issued orders to all the states and union territories to ensure that the property and education of children who have lost their parents due to corona infection are safe. The court has also asked that the information about the property left by the parents of the children be uploaded on the Bal Swaraj Portal. The top court has said that the children who are not going to school, they should be admitted in the neighboring schools. The top court has ordered the states to inform the education status of such children by filing status reports.

This order was passed by Justice L. Nageswara Rao, after perusing the demands made in the status report filed by the National Commission for Children and hearing the arguments of amicus curiae and advocate Gaurav Agarwal. The court was hearing a case related to the care, education etc. of children who lost their parents in Corona. On the last date, the Children's Commission, while filing a report in the Supreme Court, had sought a direction to the District Magistrates to secure the property of such children and pay attention to the liabilities on the property. On Monday, Justice Gaurav Agrawal, referring to the report of the Children's Commission before the court, sought directions to give necessary directions to secure the property of such children and also to involve the District Legal Service Authority for contact with the children.

The Supreme Court in its order has said that the District Child Protection Unit and the concerned DM, with the help of the District Legal Service Authority, will look into the liabilities of the properties left by the parents of the children and take steps to safeguard the property. Property information will be uploaded on Bal Swaraj Portal. Along with this, Agarwal said that according to the report of the Children's Commission, there are 1,47,492 children who have lost their parents or any one of them due to Corona. Aggarwal said that the situation has started returning to normal after Corona, in such a situation, the court should direct the states to examine the education status of children above the age of six years and those who are not living in the child care unit. and ensure their education.
