Heavy rains likely in Hyderabad till Sep 7: IMD

Begumpet: On 4th, 5th and 6th September Hyderabad will see a moderately cloudy sky with moderate rain or thundershowers likely, IMD Bulletin predicts low pressure over North and Central Bay of Bengal on 6th of this month has expressed. It said it will have an impact on the state even though there are signs of it moving towards West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts.

Meanwhile, the state of Telangana is also likely to receive heavy rains till September 7. The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains and has issued an orange alert. On the other hand, it has been raining heavily in the state for the last two days. Due to which the temperature continued to drop. During the last 24 hours that ended at 8.30 am on Friday, the temperature was 32.8 degrees Celsius. The IMD on Friday extended the heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning warning for Telangana till September 7. It said that the southwest monsoon was active in the state and it was raining at many places.

Kothagudem recorded the day's highest of 13 cm; Chandur (Nalgonda) 11 cms, Wargal (Siddipet), Tadvai (Mulugu) 10 each. The main rainfall amounts (in cm) were: Ibrahimpatnam (RR), Medchal, Shamirpet 8 each, Daulatabad (Siddipet) 7, Hakimpet 6, Mirdoddi (Siddipet), Golconda, Hayatnagar (RR) 5 each, Kohir (Sangareddy), Kondurg (RR), Hyderabad, Ramayampet (Medak) 4 each, Dindigul, Vikarabad, Saroornagar 3 each, Kondapak (Siddipet), Manchal (RR), Naikal (Sangareddy) Yacharam (RR) 2 each. Seri Lingampalli, Uppal, Chegunta, Dubak, Marpalle (Vikarabad) and Gajwel got one centimeter each.
