On women's day here is what Rani Mukherji has a special message to say. In an interview with a leading daily, the actor spoke how the mindset has been changing for the married actresses with babies.
Rani Mukherji who is going to see in 'Hichki' which is also a movie that shows a strong woman. In a conversation with a leading daily, Rani said, "Bengali women are strong-willed. From the time we are born, tags like ‘Maa’, ‘Lakshmi’, and ‘Durga’ are attached to us. What happens is that all of us get enamored by strength. So, projects in which the role of the female protagonist has been strong have always attracted me. It feels unnatural for me to play weak characters."
Talking about married actresses who return to films after a hiatus, she said, "There is a hurdle in the industry for sure. But the mindset towards married women with babies is changing. In the West, there have been instances where whether you’re a female or a male actor, there has been no discrimination. Both individuals have led their own lives, had children, and probably married even four times (laughs)! And people have been okay with that. They are accepted as actors. We need to separate a person’s personal life from their artistic talent. It’s about how you present yourself in front of the audience. If you’re looking great, I don’t think there should be any problem."
'Hichki' which is going to slated on 23rd March 2018.
