KANPUR: Two people were hurt when two groups clashed in the Ghatampur police circle, Kanpur, following alleged disagreements over the ongoing Karnataka 'hijab' row.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's Nagar Pracharak was among those injured (RSS). He was admitted to the Ghatampur Community Health Centre (CHC) and referred to Kanpur from there.

According to sources, some persons in the Purani Bazar neighbourhood were discussing various matters when the conversation went to the present "hijab" dispute in Karnataka. There were heated debates, which quickly escalated into a brawl between members of two different RSS groups. Pracharak Nagar In his police report, Bhaskar Singh revealed that the incident occurred when he was sitting with another RSS member, Yashraj Singh.

Meanwhile, local residents Abrar Ahmed and Amir Hasan, Sameer Kanda, and Shahabuddin arrived with 20 to 22 people and got into a fight with them.They were beaten with iron rods and sticks when they objected.

Sushil Kumar Dubey, Circle Officer (CO) (Ghatampur), said that action is being taken after a FIR was filed under relevant sections of the IPC on the basis of a complaint."If the people identified in the FIR are discovered to be involved, they will undoubtedly be prosecuted. In this case, investigations are still ongoing " he added.
