Shimla: Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, presided over a Hamirpur Students Union event on Wednesday at Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla.

The Chief Minister announced that the State Government would make significant adjustments to the educational system with the arrival of 5G technology.

He said, the state's educational institutions are considering adding new technical courses so that young people will have more chances for employment and self-employment.Training in fields like robotics, block chain technology, cyber security, cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning could give young people improved job prospects, he said.

The Chief Minister announced that one Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School, where pre-nursery classes will be introduced, was being created in every assembly seat in a progressive way in order to provide quality education in rural areas. He claimed that the State Government has set aside Rs 300 crores for this large-scale project. Additionally, loans with a 1% interest rate will be given to needy students to ensure that they do not miss out on a higher education.

The Chief Minister said, "Legal rights have been granted to 6000 orphans by granting them the status of 'Children of the State' and it would be the government's responsibility to take care of them until they reach the age of 27 years. The state government will also be responsible for paying their tuition, lodging costs, pocket money of Rs. 4000 per month, clothing and festival allowances, as well as the costs of a 15-day exposure visit once a year. The Chief Minister mentioned that he attended this university to study law and that he was a graduate.

He claimed that numerous pupils who had studied under him had won awards for the state in both the political and other spheres. "Many of his former coworkers at the university were employed as instructors at this institution. To overcome the obstacles of the future, it was essential to recall our past. The youthful generation also had a duty to protect the state's unique cultural heritage, he said.

The Hamirpur Students Union was praised by the Chief Minister for organising the event, and the University gave him a warm welcome when he arrived.

Among those present were Congress politician Rajneesh Kimta, Vikramaditya Singh, the Minister of Public Works, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur, MLAs Harish Janartha and Chaitanya Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Shivam Pratap Singh, and other dignitaries.
