Hindi Day: Govt to distribute honours and awards at Vigyan Bhawan today, Amit Shah to be present

New Delhi: The Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs will organise a Hindi Day celebrations and award distribution programme on Tuesday, 14th September, 2014 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on the occasion of Hindi Day. The event will be presided over by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Ajay Kumar Mishra and Nishith will be the special guests at the authentic function.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will distribute Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar and Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar at the event to be held on Hindi Day. Since the event could not be organized last year due to corona epidemic, awards will be given to ministries, departments, undertakings etc., which have excelled in official language Hindi during 2018-19, 19-20 and 2020-21 and institutions that have extracted excellent articles and magazines in official language Hindi.

It may be recalled that on 14th September 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi as the official language of the Union and on the basis of a policy of inspiration and encouragement on this occasion, the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs organizes the Rajbhasha Kirti and Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar Distribution Ceremony on the occasion of Hindi Day on 14th September every year.
