Ranchi: An incident of love jihad has come to light from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. A Hindu girl committed suicide under pressure to convert to Islam after marriage in Khalari police station area here, police said on Sunday. In fact, two years ago, a Muslim man hid his religion and married her. The police have started investigating the case by sending the culprit to the JJ Board.
According to the news received, at around 9:30 pm, the minor girl Pooja committed suicide by hanging herself in her room. Due to this, Pooja's alleged boyfriend Golu Ansari and his parents were present in the house. As soon as they saw Pooja hanging, they immediately brought her down and took her to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. As soon as the news of the incident was received, the police reached there and detained the criminal Golu Ansari. The next day, on Thursday, the minor girl's father Sonu Ram lodged a complaint with the police station and blamed Golu Ansari for his daughter's suicide.
Sonu Ram, father of the deceased girl, said that Golu came to his house at around 9 pm on May 31 to talk to Pooja. Due to this, Pooja told that this is the boy whom she had married two years ago in the hill temple. The girl's father said that Golu Ansari had married Pooja two years ago by hiding his religion. He would often call Pooja and call her and also had physical relations with her. He had been pressuring Pooja to change her religion for the past few days. Due to this, Pooja was upset and for this reason, Pooja hanged herself at around 9:30 pm.
Pooja is 17 and Golu is 22. They also have a one-year-old child. Golu, however, denied the allegations levelled against him. He said he had met Pooja four months ago and pooja was already married. The child isn't his either. Bajrang Dal leader Vinod Vishwakarma, including VHP, said it was a case of love jihad. There should be an impartial investigation into this whole incident. Khalari police station in-charge Farid Alam said that according to Golu Ansari's school certificate and Aadhaar card, she is a minor. For this reason, he has been presented in the Juvenile Justice Board and from there he will be sent to a juvenile home. At the same time, the body of the victim has been sent for post-mortem. Her age will be ascertained on the basis of his medical examination. The investigation of the case is going on.
