Damoh: A private school in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh has been booked for allegedly forcing Hindu girl students to wear hijab. After the news was shown on Aaj Tak, the Shivraj Government has canceled the recognition of this school. The state government has taken this action on Ganga Jamuna Higher Secondary School in Damoh. This action has been taken after the school violated the recognition rules. Not only this, the Joint Director Public Education Assistant Division (SAGAR) has also issued an order regarding this action.

Let us tell you that in this private school, there was an incident of Hindu girls being forced to wear hijab. Following a complaint by Hindu organisations, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had ordered an inquiry. After this incident came to light, there was an uproar in the entire city. Hindu organisations staged a sit-in in front of the collector's office demanding cancellation of the school's registration. Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar had also issued a statement on the matter.  

He had said that if the school management is forcefully making Hindu girls wear hijab, then the Damoh Collector should take action on it. He had demanded that it should also be investigated whether permission has been taken from the family of the girl students. On this matter, the owner of the school, Mushtaq Khan, had clarified that the headscarf is included in the school dress. No one was forced to wear it. National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairman Priyank Singh had said that he had received complaints of forcing girls to wear burqa and hijab.
