New Delhi: The Home Ministry is going to take major action against the Popular Front of India (PFI), a banned organization funding crores of rupees for protests related to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). It has been reported from the sources that the Home Ministry is preparing to crack the PFI. It is being told that the Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing to set up a separate desk to investigate cases related to PFI.

According to the information given by the sources, there was a big meeting in the Ministry of Home Affairs under the leadership of the Home Secretary regarding PFI, in which officers of Intelligence Department as well as DG of NIA, Enforcement Directorate and other officials of Home Ministry were present. It is being told that the scope of investigation will increase on the funding of PFI during the Civil Amendment Act. Sources have also told that on the PFI, the Ministry of Home Affairs has taken a lot of information from the intelligence agencies and the NIA, in which the funding of PFI in 8 states is on the radar of the investigating agencies. The Ministry of Home Affairs is eyeing the role of PFI in Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Kerala, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.

For information, let us tell you that PFI has been accused of funding in many states in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the Uttar Pradesh government has already sent a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs to ban the PFI.
