Lucknow: Referring patients unnecessarily without treating them has become a trend of many government hospitals. All of you must have found yourself surrounded in this matter at one time or another. Nowadays all the hospitals have become only referral units. In such a situation, the result is that there has been a huge rush of patients in multi-speciality medical institutions like SGPI, KGMU, and Lohia of the capital. Yes, there is already such a rush of serious patients in these hospitals that there is no space for more patients. However, now it is going to be costly for them to do so.

In fact, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed strong displeasure over this trend of unnecessary referrals. Recently, in view of their displeasure, the Health and Medical Education Department has become active regarding this. Let us tell you that the government is continuously increasing the number of primary and community health centres as well as health sub-centres so that people can get treatment facilities near them. At present, medical colleges are being opened in every district, although the tendency of government hospitals to outdo the patients is increasing continuously.

Yes and this situation is not limited only to PHC and CHC or district-level hospitals, but this situation is also in medical colleges. If the patient is mildly severe without sufficient reason, the patient is immediately referred to a higher medical institution. If the treatment is available to the patient there, then not only will people be facilitated, but all those lives will also be saved, who die while being referred from here to there. However, now after the displeasure of CM Yogi Adityanath, such hospitals and medical colleges are not well. Now such hospitals will be monitored.

Now the responsibility of the principals is being fixed and now every patient will have to give sufficient reason for referring. Yes, while referring, that reason will also have to be written and more referring hospitals will be marked. With this, preparations are being made to take action against them.
