LOS ANGELES: Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has said that she loves Lionel Messi, and her husband Michael Douglas is "fine" with it.

The Paris Saint-Germain player, 35, led Argentina to World Cup victory on Sunday by scoring twice to help his team defeat France 4-2 on penalties at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, reports femalefirst.co.uk. The 53-year-old actress added that her 78-year-old husband Douglas is "fine" with her admiration for the player.

Zeta-Jones, who supported Argentina from her US residence, posted on Instagram as follows: "The most incredible match I have ever witnessed! I adore the French and speak it myself, so why do I support Paris Saint-Germain? My heart goes out to you.

"However, you must understand that I adore Messi. What's the finest part?

My husband is totally cool with it. Don't cry for me or anyone else, Argentina, since there's no reason to! OLE!!! What a dude! Doesn't mind that I have Messi posters all over the place, which is really amazing." Zeta-Jones, who is married to Douglas for 22 years and they have two children together, also shared a video of her television in which she could be heard singing "Ole, Ole, Ole" as Argentina's players sobbed in celebration after winning.

Following the victory, which has been regarded as the best World Cup final in the competition's history, Messi said: "It took so long, but it's finally here. We went through a lot of pain, but we succeeded.

"Can't wait to be in Argentina to witness the insanity of this."
