New Delhi: These days economic sluggishness and lack of jobs in the country remains in the news. Meanwhile, private sector giant ICICI has made a big announcement. The bank has targeted to open 450 new branches in this financial year. Due to which 3500 people will get employment. The bank issued a statement saying that out of these 450, 320 branches were opened to customers. With this, the number of branches of the bank has crossed the figure of 5,000.

The bank has said that the remaining 130 branches will also be operational by the end of the current financial year. The bank's executive director Anoop Bagchi said that the bank aims to develop a network of 5,300 branches by March 2020. Bagchi said that there would be 3,500 posts for this. He said we believe that a large network of branches is necessary for retail banking. This helps in deepening the relationship with customers by giving them good service.

"Improving the network of the branch helps in meeting all the banking needs of customers related to mortgage, banking, loan and investment," Bagchi said. Actually, in the last few years, the nature of the functioning of the branches of banks has changed a lot. In today's time, most customers conduct normal transactions through digital mediums but go to the branches for understanding complex issues, investment suggestions. Anoop Bagchi said that the economic slowdown has not had much effect on banks.
