At that time, the Police of Jaunpur has set an example of humanity. When four shoulders were not found from the village to support the funeral of the deceased wife from Covid, the husband laid the body on his bicycle and walked to the river bank. The police, who arrived after receiving the information, not only shouldered but also arranged for the vehicle to carry the luggage and bodies to the ghat for the funeral. The case is from Amberpur village in Madiahoon Kotwali area.

Rajkumari (56), wife of village resident Tilakdhari Singh, succumbed to her injuries amid treatment at the district hospital. Tilakdhari reached the village with the body by ambulance. He sought the cooperation of neighbours in taking the body to the ghat for the funeral, but no one came forward citing death from Covid. When Tilakdhari has no other way, he put his wife's body on his bicycle and left alone for the last rites.

It has been learnt that he came to the riverbank in the village with the body on a bicycle. The villagers refused to burn the body as they were yet to set up a pyre to cremate them. The police who reached the spot went to the spot and helped Tilakdhari Singh. He made a tikthi for the body, shouldered it and then arranged for the vehicle and sent the body to Ramghat.

They also started providing money for the funeral. In this regard, CO Madiahoon Sant Kumar said that the police had reached on the information of the incident. The police helped Tilakdhari Singh. A train was also arranged for the body. In addition, the body was sent to Ramghat in Jaunpur for final action. The efforts of the policemen are commendable.
