Himachal Pradesh: In a virtual meeting with Prof Lia Diskin of Palas Athena, Brazil, Tibet's spiritual leader, Dalai Lama, discussed "Educating the Heart for the New Millennium," encouraging people to cultivate peace of mind for stable democratic communities.

"People's perceptions of democracy and social responsibility are considerably broader, reflecting a concern for the larger community. We must urge more people to cultivate peace of mind if we want to see more stable democratic societies ", said the Dalai Lama, highlighting the importance of democracy.

Dalai Lamaemphasised intelligence as a distinguishing feature between humans and animals, claiming that while elephants have larger brains, we humans are more stable "Intelligence is a fundamentally human attribute," he added.

"When this intelligence is mixed with hatred, rage, or fear, however, it may be extremely devastating. As a result, we must be mindful to pair it with warmth instead. Warmth of heart cultivation is not merely a religious topic; even scientists today recognise the importance of it in achieving inner peace. We need to help each other because our lives are dependent on the community in which we live. And intelligence alone would not suffice; we will also require warmth of heart "Dalai Lama said.
