New Delhi: Angered by the viral remarks on allopathy doctors, the state branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has demanded strict action against Baba Ramdev from the government. IMA has sent a letter to CM Tirath Singh Rawat and Chief Secretary Om Prakash in this regard. IMA has sent a notice to Baba Ramdev asking him to respond within 14 days.

At the same time, the IMA has warned Baba Ramdev that an FIR will be lodged against him if he is not responded to within the stipulated time frame. A letter was sent to the CM and chief secretary on Monday on behalf of Dr. Ajay Khanna, secretary, state branch of IMA. At the same time, a viral video of Baba Ramdev has also been made to the Chief Secretary. Dr. Ajay Khanna has written in his letter that baba ramdev's statement has caused a lot of resentment among the doctors of IMA and the Union Health Minister has also termed Baba Ramdev's statement as inappropriate.

He said the government should take strict action against Baba Ramdev immediately. A defamation notice is also being sent to Baba Ramdev by the IMA. Dr. Ajay Khanna said that the notice is still being prepared and the notice will be sent to Baba Ramdev on Tuesday. He said an FIR will also be lodged in the case besides a defamation claim. IMA will chalk out the next strategy if concrete action is not taken by the government.
