According to reports, after his nephew accused him of sexual abuse, Ricky Martin sued him for USD $20 million. The musician reportedly filed the lawsuit on Wednesday in San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to TMZ. The lawsuit was filed close to a month after Ricky's restraining order against Martin's nephew Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, age 21.

Sanchez allegedly started messaging Martin through Instagram and threatened to "assassinate his reputation and integrity" if he didn't pay up. This is according to Martin. According to court documents, Sanchez, who has been labeled a "maladjusted individual," allegedly boasted about being his nephew and sent him excessive texts up to ten times each day over a period of four months.

The singer's nephew is also charged with leaking his phone number online and creating an Instagram account for one of the singer's kids, according to the lawsuit. Martin and his husband Jwan Yosef are the parents of twins Matteo and Valentino, 13, Lucia, 3, and Renn, 2, as well as one more child.

The conflict between Martin and his nephew initially surfaced in July, when the singer addressed the accusations against him in a video while claiming he couldn't discuss them because of ongoing legal processes. Ricky posted a video message on social media after his nephew rejected the case against him, saying, "It has been so painful and devastating for me, for my family for my friends. The singer had also received support from his husband during the time.”
