Following their recent appearance at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of their movie, Don't Worry Darling, Harry Styles, and Chris Pine recently became trending topics on social media. According to a viral video from the movie's showing, Harry allegedly spits on Chris while seated next to the actor. Netizens started calling this incident "spitgate."

Following the incident, Chris Pine's representatives issued a statement dismissing the allegations, however, Harry Styles recently addressed the same at one of his live performances. Styles made fun of the internet-trending video footage from the Don't Worry, Darling Venice Film Festival premiere during his recent performance on Wednesday night in Madison Square Garden, as reported by People after it appeared in fan videos, and said, "I went very quickly to Venice to spit on Chris Pine."

Regarding Pine, the actor's representatives issued a statement that read: "This is a ridiculous story,  a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation."

Given the ongoing conflict between lead actress Florence Pugh and director Olivia Wilde, the Don't Worry Darling debut at the Venice Film Festival was rife with controversy and drama. Even though Pugh traveled to Venice for the screening, she was not present for the press conference or seen mingling with Wilde or Styles at the premiere. While working on the movie, Florence and Olivia are said to have fallen out over the wage gap between her and Styles.
