MP Mohan Delkar found dead at Mumbai hotel, police gets suicide note

Mumbai: MP from Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Mohan Delkar has committed suicide on Monday. His body has been recovered from Hotel Sea Green in Mumbai. The police has also recovered a suicide note, written in the Gujarati language. Police has taken the body of the MP in the possession and sent it for postmortem. police is investigating the matter.

The 58-year-old Mohan Delkar reached the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1989 by winning elections from Dadar and Nagar Lok Sabha seats. He started his political career as a trade union leader. He contested the election of MP on Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tickets. He later formed the Bharatiya Navashakti Party (BNP).

Mohan Delkar had reached Parliament by winning the Lok Sabha elections thrice. In the year 2019, he split from Congress and contested the Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate and won. Bharat Singh Solanki, a former MP, and friend of Mohan Delkar has expressed grief over the incident.
