Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's was going to review the situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh in view of tension. During this, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane was also present with him. During this tour, he was scheduled to meet with local military commanders to review the confrontation and military deployment on the LAC, as well as the wounded brave soldiers who had routed Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley.

There has been an atmosphere of conflict between the armies of both countries for a long time. The government is trying to reduce it. This would have been the first visit of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to Ladakh. During his visit, Rajnath Singh was to undertake a comprehensive review of the security situation in the region along with General Naravane, Commander of the Northern Army, Lt Gen Yogesh Kumar Joshi, 14 Corps Lt Gen Harinder Singh and other senior military officers.

Army Chief Naravane has also visited Ladakh. He did this tour between 23 and 24 June. He had an important meeting with senior army officers. General Naravane had earlier visited Leh on 22 May. Significantly, between the Indian and Chinese forces, there was a violent clash in the Galwan valley on July 15 between the Chinese and Indian forces, which has been going on for the last seven weeks. During this time, 20 soldiers of India had sacrificed their lives. The Chinese army also suffered heavy losses in this skirmish. However, he has not given any information about his soldiers being killed or injured. Since then, the tension between the two countries increased further.
