New Delhi: Johnson & Johnson's Single-Dose COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for emergency use in India. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted this on his official Twitter handle. This will be the fourth corona vaccine to be available in the country. Covishield (Oxford-Estrageneca) of Serum Institute of India (SII), Covacsin of Bharat Biotech, and Sputnik V (developed in Russia) of Dr. Reddy's are already available in India.  The Cipla has been allowed to import Moderna vaccine.

Johnson & Johnson has not given many details on how to produce the vaccine. But the company must have said that biological E will play an important role in its global supply. Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine is made using the genetic material of the corona SARS-CoV-2 virus. This is called Ad26.COV2.S. They use the genetic code of the virus to make spyc proteins. Many more vaccines also provide protection in the same way. The vaccine can be stored at 2 to 8-degree temperatures. The opened vials can be stored for 12 hours between 9 degrees and 25 degrees.

Once the vaccine reaches the body, it instructs to develop antibodies against the disease. Since the vaccine does not contain the entire genetic material of the virus, it cannot make people sick. When the immune system that creates antibodies recognizes and fights the real virus. Johnson & Johnson's vaccine is a non-replicating viral vector vaccine. This means that the genetic material inside the vaccine will not make its copies inside the body. This is necessary because when the virus enters the body, it begins to make its copies which spread the infection.
