India registers 121 new Covid-19 cases in past 24-hrs

NEW DELHI: India on Tuesday, January 10,  saw a marginal decline in Covid-19cases with 121 infections clocked in the last 24 hours, against the previous day's 170 count, said the Union Health Ministry data.

With this, the active caseload has declined to 2,319 cases, accounting for 0.01 % of the total positive cases.  According to the data, the weekly positivity rate presently stands at 0.11 %, while the daily positive rate stands at 0.07%.

The recovery of 172 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,41,47,174. With this, the country's recovery rate stands at 98.80%.

Also in the corresponding period, a total of 1,69,568 tests were conducted, increasing the overall tally to over 91.23 crore.  With 56,829 vaccines administered in the last 24 hours, the Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 220.14 crore as of this morning.

India's COVID tally had surpassed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30.00 lakh on August 23, 40.00 lakh on September 5 and 50.00 lakh on September 16. It went past 60.00 lakh on September 28, 70.00 lakh on October 11, crossed 80.00 lakh on October 29, 90.00 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.
