New Delhi: Under the leadership of Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Indian Railway is focusing special attention on the speed of passenger trains. By March 2021, the exercise to increase the speed of trains covered on the 10,000 km route to 130 km per hour is going on. Railways have planned to upgrade the 9,893 km route of Golden Quadrilateral / Diagonals to 130 km / h speed.

The speed of trains running on 1,442 routes has been increased to 130 km / h. In this way, the speed of 15% trains of the Golden Quadrilateral / Diagonals route has been upgraded to 130 kilometers per hour. Recently, there was a successful trial to operate the train at a speed of 130 kmph on the Chennai-Mumbai route under the South Central Railway. Till now Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains used to run at this pace. This track belongs to the Guntakal division of the railway.

On this route, the speed of the train was 130 kilometers per hour on more than 80%. This route comes under the Golden Quadrilateral, which is till Chennai-Mumbai, Delhi Kolkata-Chennai. The length of this entire route is 9,893 km. The process of increasing the speed of this entire route to 130 kilometers per hour is underway.
