Warning of heavy rains in Gujarat, thunderstorms in these areas

Ahmedabad: In the beginning of July, heavy rainfall was recorded in many districts of Gujarat. In the first week of this month, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surat, Dwarka and Porbandar received heavy rainfall. In Rajkot, more than one-third of the entire year's rain fell in just 18 hours. In the same period, Jamnagar also receives 25 cm of water, while the district receives an average of 67.6 cm of rainfall throughout the year.

Now again the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rain in South Gujarat and Saurashtra. These days it has been warned of heavy rains due to active monsoon. Due to which there is a possibility of strong winds with light rain in various parts of Saurashtra, Kutch. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is active in South Gujarat and Saurashtra of the state. Today, in some parts including Ahmedabad, people were also disturbed by the scorching heat. Earlier on Friday, Ahmedabad city had the highest temperature in the state.

The parts of South Gujarat which may receive rains include Navsari, Valsad Daman, Dadernagar Haveli, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Rajkot, Porbandar, Amreli and Dwarka of Saurashtra. An alert for heavy rain has been issued on Sunday. After that on Monday, heavy rain is expected in some places in Navsari, Valsad, Daman in South Gujarat and Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh and Gir Somnath districts of Saurashtra.
