Often when we are unable to do any work or we fail repeatedly in something, we use the word "Panauti". We use it to mean bad luck or misfortune. But do you know that the word "Panauti" is related to astrology and especially Shani Dev? Let us know the reason behind it.

Relation of Shani Dev and Panauti

In astrology, the word "Panauti" has a special meaning. We often hear about Shani Dev's Sade Sati. When Shani is in a zodiac sign, his influence also falls on the next and previous zodiac sign. Shani stays in every zodiac sign for about 2.5 years, so when a person's Sade Sati starts, it lasts for about 7 years.

Shani's Sade Sati is called Panauti. It is believed that when Shani's Sade Sati comes upon a person, his bad times begin. Shani's Sade Sati is considered a big Panauti, while Shani's Dhaiyya is called a small Panauti. Shani's Dhaiyya occurs when Shani comes in the fourth or eighth house of the native's birth sign.

Panauti does not only mean inauspicious

Shani Dev's Sade Sati or Panauti is not always inauspicious. Shani Dev worshipped Lord Shiva and Lord Shiva made him the judge of the nine planets. That is why, when there is a dasha and transit of Shani, Shani Dev punishes or rewards a person based on their deeds. Therefore, it is not right to consider Shani's Sade Sati as just inauspicious.

Relation of Panauti and Bhadra

"Bhadra" is the sister of Shani Dev. Brahma Ji has determined the time of Bhadra for all the three worlds. Doing any auspicious work during Bhadra is prohibited, because the result of the work done in Bhadra can be bad.
