New Delhi: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch the Cartosat-3 satellite on November 27 at 9.28 am. The satellite will be launched via PSLV-C47 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. It was earlier scheduled to launch on 25 November. But, for unknown reasons, ISRO changed its launch date. It will also have 13 American satellites.

According to ISRO, Cartosat-3 will be installed in 509 km Orbit. According to Spaceflight, two more ISRO surveillance satellites - RISAT-2 BR1 and RISAT-2 BR2 - will be launched from Sriharikota in December via PSLVC 48 and C49 rockets. ISRO had earlier launched surveillance satellite RISAT-2B on 22 May and AMISAT (Electronic Intelligence Satellite) on 1 April.

AMISAT helps DRDO monitor enemy radars. The six-month delay in launching this operational satellite was due to Chandrayaan-2. According to sources, the satellite will be used to gather intelligence and monitor the border. An ISRO official has said that a total of 14 satellites will be launched tomorrow morning.
