Excitement is building in Jaipur as the Rajasthan government announces French President Emmanuel Macron's upcoming visit on January 25. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma presided over a crucial meeting on Friday to ensure everything is set for the distinguished guest.

Macron is set to be the Chief Guest at the Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path in Delhi on January 26. Chief Minister Sharma stressed the importance of timely preparations and issued directives to officials to ensure Macron's accommodation, security, and transportation are well taken care of.

During the meeting, Sharma emphasized the display of hoardings showcasing the rich art and culture of Rajasthan at various locations. Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, Director General of Police U R Sahoo, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Anand Kumar, and other senior officers were present to discuss and coordinate the arrangements for the high-profile visit.

Defense and Digital Collaboration in Spotlight as Jaipur Talks Unfold

During the upcoming talks in Jaipur, officials have indicated that a significant number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), at least a dozen, are on the agenda. While attention is keenly focused on substantial defense deals involving aircraft, submarines, and jet engine technology, officials note that these agreements are still in the process of being finalized. Notably, there is an emphasis on boosting the "made in India" components within these deals, marking a noteworthy trend.

One key area of interest is "digital collaboration," with a specific highlight on the implementation of a major announcement made in June during Prime Minister Modi's visit to Paris. The announcement involved the acceptance of Indian UPI digital payments in France, beginning with Eiffel Tower tickets. The discussions will also encompass advancements in various other areas such as strategic ties, maritime security, Indo-Pacific strategy, climate change, green transitions, and collaborations between the Indian and French space agencies. The talks aim to foster progress and cooperation in these diverse fields.
