With the introduction of the governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir, an order for the withdrawal of additional security of all MLA and MLC has been issued. Jammu district's IGP SD Singh said on Friday that after reviewing the security received by all MLA and MLC in the state due to the implementation of the governor's rule, it has been decided that all these apart from the prescribed standards Security will be removed. In this regard, the SSP of all the districts should call back the additional escorts, PSOs and guards of these MLA and MLC and report it to the Zonal Police headquarter in two days.

It has been said in the order that the SSP personally should see this case and strictly follow it. However, the security of the Assembly Speaker will not be removed. According to the criteria set by the Security Wing of Police Headquarters, the speaker will be provided security. This is the first time that the security of MLA, MLC has been withdrawn during the Governor's rule. Since the Assembly has not been dissolved, due to this reason the status of MLAs is retained.

Now many MLA and MLC in the state have taken heavy security, including scoring, showing the dominant position of living in the government, instead of the prescribed criteria. According to the rules, a MLA has a PSO and a gunner. In this way, additional security of all the legislators will be withdrawn immediately.
