Srinagar: An encounter between security forces and terrorists is going on in Kalakot area in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. In this encounter, a terrorist has been killed by the security forces. Security forces have surrounded the entire area and heavy firing is going on. The additional police force has been deployed on the spot.

The encounter started when security forces conducted a search operation on the day in Kalakot area of Rajouri on Thursday. Information about 2 to 3 terrorists hiding in the forests of Kalakot has been reported. Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh said in a conversation with a private news channel that, "A terrorist has been killed in an ongoing encounter in Kalakot, Rajouri. Weapons and ammunition have been recovered from the terrorist. The terrorist has not been identified yet. He could be Pakistani. Further investigation is going on."

Earlier, militants opened fire on a police team on Thursday in Yaripora of Kulgam district of South Kashmir, in which a civilian was injured. Officials gave information about this. Police told the Santro car of the terrorists to stop at the checkpoint, on which the terrorists opened fire on the police and escaped leaving the car at the scene. A civilian was injured in this firing, who was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
