The Himachal Pradesh (HP) government will shortly begin batch-wise recruitment of vacant positions in educational institutions to ensure that the state's trained Junior Basic Training (JBT) youth have plenty of job possibilities.

The statement was made by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday in the Vidhan Sabha complex while speaking to a delegation of Himachal Pradesh Shikshak Mahasangh.

The chief minister said, the education department is likely the largest in the state, with the highest number of personnel. He said,  the state government has made various announcements in the budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 to help all types of teachers. Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) (Sanskrit) and TGT (Language) have been declared as replacements for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) trained and eligible Shastri and language teachers (Hindi).

He also stated that lecturer (School Cadre) and lecturer (School New) would be referred to as Lecturer (School). A  one-time option for promotion as Headmaster has been announced in the budget for the coming fiscal year for promoted academics from TGTs. He stated that the education sector has been allocated Rs 8,412 crore for the fiscal year 2022-23.
