Ranchi: A number of cases are being reported from the country, while brain malaria is wreaking havoc on Jharkhand Jaguar (JJ or STF) soldiers. Brain malaria killed another soldier. Soldier Upendra Kumar died due to treatment at the hospital. The soldier was earlier admitted to a nursing home. He was referred to Medica Hospital where he had been undergoing treatment for several days, but Upendra succumbed to injuries on Thursday.

According to the report, 83 Soldiers of Jharkhand Jaguar have been martyred so far due to brain malaria. Jawan Upendra Kumar was originally from Oriya in Leslieganj police station area of Palamu. Upendra started his job as a soldier in Jharkhand Jaguar on June 6, 2017.

In the last 13 years, 83 Soldiers of Jharkhand Jaguar have been martyred so far in the operation against militants in the forests. Jaguar soldiers are facing a lot of difficulties. These soldiers have to patrol by broken trains given by the Government in 2008. After returning from the campaign, one has to live in tents and not Pucca houses. Even today, soldiers are not lucky to drink clean water in the Jaguar complex. In many areas, soldiers live in the middle of the water and are victims of mosquitoes.
