Ranchi: Six labourers lost their lives and many suffered serious burn injuries after being hit by a high-tension wire in Dhanbad, Jha Rakhand. According to the information, all the deceased are laborers, who were doing pole work near the Nithpur rail gate between Dhanbad and Gomo stations. All these deceased were hit by a 25,000-volt high tension wire while installing the pole. The condition of many of the injured is said to be serious and the death toll may increase.
According to the information received in connection with the accident, the work of installing a pole was being done near the Nittpur railway gate between Dhanbad-Gomo station on the Howrah-New Delhi route of Dhanbad railway division. It is just 1 km from Katras railway station. Railway workers were killed after being hit by a 25,000-volt high tension wire while installing a pole here. Rail operations have also been affected after the accident.
The incident took place around 11.30 pm. Local people have informed that a dozen laborers were working on the Dhanbad-Gomo railway section near Jharkhar. Then the pole was hit by a 25,000-volt high tension wire. In the blink of an eye, 6 laborers lost their lives.
