Ranchi: A reputed cleric from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, has asked his community not to offer prayers on the streets. Maulana Ubadullah of Ekara Mosque told the press, "We have forbidden people to offer prayers on the street because it is against Islam." There were some people who lined the road to offer prayers, but from now on it will be done inside the mosques and space will be provided for it. "

So far, many roads in Ranchi, including the Mahatma Gandhi Road, were stuck in big jams on Friday, especially due to offering prayers.  However, hundreds of Muslims offered prayers inside the Ekara Mosque near Ratan Talkies this Friday.

Maulana Ubaidullah said, "The main road is an important route of the city. School buses, ambulances and important vehicles pass through it. It is against the teachings of Islam to harass others in the name of prayers. He said a meeting of clerics of all mosques in the city will now be convened to stop the exercise. The people of Ranchi have welcomed the decision.
