BJP's candidate from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi constituency, Kangana Ranaut, rebutted allegations made by Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar regarding her dietary habits. Wadettiwar, also the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly, insinuated that Ranaut had confessed to consuming beef in the past, despite being endorsed by the BJP.

In response, Ranaut vehemently denied consuming beef or any other form of red meat. She expressed dismay at the propagation of baseless rumors aimed at tarnishing her image. Emphasizing her advocacy for a yogic and Ayurvedic lifestyle over the years, Ranaut asserted that such tactics would not succeed in misleading her supporters. She reiterated her pride in her Hindu identity, affirming her constituents' unwavering trust in her character.

Ranaut's statement was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), where she underscored her commitment to her beliefs and values.

In addition to Ranaut's response, BJP leader Shaina NC criticized Wadettiwar, labeling the Congress as "anti-woman." Shaina highlighted previous instances of derogatory comments made by Congress members, citing Supriya Shrinate's recent controversial remark about Ranaut as an example. She condemned the recurring pattern of sexist remarks from the Congress, citing instances involving prominent women figures.

This latest controversy emerged following Shrinate's derogatory comment about Ranaut, which sparked widespread condemnation. Ranaut, known for her diverse roles in films portraying various female characters, addressed Shrinate's remarks on social media. She pointed out her versatility as an actor, highlighting her portrayal of characters ranging from a prostitute in "Rajjo" to a revolutionary leader in "Thalaivii."
