The Vijaygatha of Kargil is recorded in golden letters in Indian history. Kargil Vijay Diwas increases its importance even more. India lost 527 of its sons in this great battle with Pakistan, while more than 1300 soldiers were injured. One of the names of these martyrs is the martyr Sultan Singh Narwaria. Before being martyred in the Kargil War, Sultan gave a unique salute to Mother India. He is remembered even today for his sacrifice.

In 1999, while fighting with Pakistan, martyr Sultan Singh Narwaria of Mehgaon, Madhya Pradesh fought fiercely against the enemies. The spirit of patriotism was so strong in him that he hoisted the tricolor on the 15,000-feet-tall Tololing hill in the chest of the enemy. Martyr Sultan Singh was posthumously awarded the Param Veer Chakra for his passion.

Operation Vijay was named by India in the Kargil war. In this, martyr Sultan Singh had to prove himself as a section commander. The Tololing Hills came in his part. He was given the task to destroy the machine guns of the enemies from this hill. Sultan sets out with his team along with courage and passion. On the other hand, the eyes of the enemies remained on him from a height.

It is the night of 12–13 June 1999. India's son was on his duty path and was about to leave it. Sultan Singh was moving forward with his team chanting 'Bharat Mata Ki Jay'. However, the very next moment the enemy's bullet lands in Sultan's chest. Although he continued to move forward. Martyr Sultan Singh Narvariya, while sacrificing his life for the country, waved the tricolor.
