Karnataka first state in India to have exclusive women industrial parks

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government will soon set up exclusive industrial parks dedicated to women in Mysuru, Dharwad, Harohalli, and Kalaburagi, in an effort to encourage them to pursue entrepreneurship. Murugesh Nirani, the Minister of Large and Medium Industries, made the announcement on Thursday.

At a luxury hotel here, the minister was inaugurating a women entrepreneurs' event titled "Together We Grow," which was organised by the UBUNTU Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs Associations to commemorate International Women Entrepreneurship Day. UBUNTU is a group of women's business organisations. Over 30 women's business organisations with over 1,500 members work together on a single platform.

Nirani said the numerous government opportunities and encouraged aspiring female entrepreneurs to take use of them. "In Mysuru, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, and Harohalli, Karnataka is the first state in India to establish exclusive industrial parks for women. If women entrepreneurs take advantage of this effort, the goal will be achieved. Women and the government should work together to drive industrial growth by starting businesses and creating jobs "Nirani insisted.

The minister praised women's accomplishments in every field and encouraged women entrepreneurs to create jobs. "In our competitive environment, women are shining in every field. Women's empowerment will be more significant if they become entrepreneurs and provide jobs for others. Successful women entrepreneurs such as Sudha Narayana Murthy of Infosys and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw of Biocon have established themselves as role models, and their success stories could serve as motivation for aspiring female entrepreneurs "Nirani said
