Patna: Katihar police of Bihar have reached his residence in the case of an objectionable statement of former cricketer and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is always in the headlines. He had made objectionable statements in Barsoi and Bari in the 2019 Lok Sabha election meeting. A special team of Katihar Police has reached Amritsar to inquire Sidhu in this regard. SP Vikas Kumar said that former minister Navjot Singh Sidhu had made objectionable statements while addressing the election meeting during the Lok Sabha elections.

In this regard, an FIR was lodged against him at Barsoi police station. A special team led by Janardan Ram and Sub Inspector Javed Alam has been rushed to Amritsar to investigate the matter. The police team in Amritsar has reached outside the residence of accused Navjot Sidhu. So far no response is being received from the accused. With the cooperation of the police of the local police station in Punjab, action has been taken.

He said that it is too early to say anything in this regard. The police tried to contact the Congress leader several times about this case, but he could not get in touch with the police. Former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, while addressing a gathering in Balrampur Legislative Assembly of Katihar Lok Sabha constituency, told Muslim voters that you should be a majority here, despite being a minority here. If you show solidarity, nobody can defeat the candidate of the Bihar Grand Alliance.
