Kejriwal govt to provide financial assistance to 791 women who were destitute during corona period

New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women has created a list of women who lost their husbands in the corona epidemic. The list has been handed over to the Delhi government to extend the benefits of the Chief Minister's Covid-19 Family Financial Assistance Scheme. The Commission's Mahila Panchayat team has traveled from place to place to prepare a list of 791 women who need financial help.

Many families have lost their loved ones in the deadly second wave of the corona epidemic. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has announced the Chief Minister Covid-19 Family Financial Assistance Scheme to help all such families. The Delhi Commission for Women has made a list of women who have become widows due to the corona epidemic by roaming all over Delhi through ground women panchayats. The Delhi Commission for Women has so far identified 791 such women and conducted social surveys.

According to the Commission for Women, out of 791 women identified, 774 are women (97.85 percent) have children. 360 women have 3 to 5 children, while 30 women have more than 5 children. Out of the identified women, 734 women (92.79 percent) are between the ages of 18-60 years and others are senior citizens. 191 women are between the ages of 18-35 years.
