New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced during an event that 500 Tricolours will be installed across Delhi by August 15 and committees of volunteers will also be formed to take care of them. Kejriwal said that every Tiranga Samman Committee will comprise of 1,000 volunteers.
Speaking at a function organised to address the volunteers of the Tiranga Samman Committee at the Thyagraj Stadium on Saturday, Kejriwal said his government will install 500 Tricolours across Delhi under its "patriotic budget", for which volunteers-based committees have been formed to look after them. According to Kejriwal, each Tiranga Samman Committee will add with it 1,000 young volunteers, who will be committed to social welfare-related works. Cm Kejriwal said that the five-member Tiranga Samman Committee in Delhi will monitor the status of each Tricolour at the concerned place.
He said that the Tiranga Samman Committee will tell the PWD officials whether any Tricolour has been damaged due to dust, storm or pollution. At the same time, for singing the national anthem at 10 am every Sunday, the committees will have to gather more and more people in place of the tricolour. My aim is to instil inspiration among the locals for the committees. Once, they prepare 1000 young volunteers, I will call the committees to have dinner at their house. Kejriwal said that these volunteers will not belong to AAP, BJP or Congress, they will be volunteers of India.
