Kochi: Mohammad Shan, a resident of the Idukki district of Kerala, beat a 6-year-old boy to death with a hammer in a family dispute. At the same time, he badly injured 2 other women in the family. The case is said to be on Sunday (October 3rd). Mohammad Shan, a resident of Vandiperiyar, reached his in-laws' house in Amakkandam, Idukki, at 3 a.m.

First, he hammered 6-year-old Abdul Farhat Rihan alias Altaf, who was asleep with granny Sainaba, on the head. Altaf succumbed to his injuries on the spot. She attacked 70-year-old Sainaba with a b-hammer, injuring her badly. Mohammad Shan then hit the child's mother Safia and badly injured her. Sainaba and Safia are undergoing treatment at a local hospital in a critical condition. Mohammed Shan also wanted to kill 15-year-old Ashni, who was in the same house, but after Ashni raised an alarm, several people started gathering at the spot and Mohammad Shan fled.

Vellathuwal police launched immediate action in the case and arrested the murdered Mohammad Shan. Shan was constantly keeping his phone switched off after the incident but as soon as he switched on his phone for a while, the police traced the location and caught him.
