Gwalior: Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari of Gwalior has been sworn in as a judge in the Supreme Court recently. Let me tell you that Jitendra Maheshwari was sworn in by the Chief Justice. Let us also inform all of you that after nearly 12 years, Madhya Pradesh has been represented in the Supreme Court. After CJI RC Lahoti and Arun Mishra, Shri Maheshwari has now been appointed as the third Supreme Court Judge from Gwalior. As soon as Jitendra Maheshwari reached his hometown of Jaura after becoming the Supreme Court Judge, he was warmly welcomed by all the villagers along with his family members and now a video of the time is fast going viral which you can see here.
Let me tell all of you that Jitendra Maheshwari was born in Jaura in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh and has now sat as a judge in the Supreme Court after studying law and practicing law in Gwalior. Let us tell you that the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana recently recommended the names of nine judges, including Mr. Maheshwari, to the Supreme Court judge.
He was nominated as the Chief Justice of Sikkim on January 6, 2021, by former Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde. Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari had earlier served as the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh high court and a judge of the MP high court. At the same time, he served as a judge in Madhya Pradesh for nearly 14 years from 25 November 2005 to 6 October 2019.
