Raipur: MLA Santram Netam of Keshkal assembly constituency of Chhattisgarh loves the character of Kumbhakaran. He has been playing the role of Kumbhakaran in the theatre since childhood. On this Dussehra also he played the character of Kumbhakaran. Participated in the Vijayadashami celebrations in the village Badedongar of his constituency. MLA Santram appeared in the role of Kumbhakaran in the ceremony of Ramayana lessons. Earlier no one came to know that this is the MLA of the area, when the young man who became Lord Shri Ram killed Kumbhakaran and removed the mask, then it came to know that this is MLA Santram Netam.

MLA Santram Netam of Keshkal assembly constituency of Kondagaon district also remains in the news from time to time due to his works. Sometimes while ploughing in the fields and sometimes singing songs and playing baja (instrument) in celebrations have also been seen. The family of MLA Santram is still an example of simplicity. Everyone is convinced to see his typical style. Santram Netam is the second consecutive time MLA from Keshkal assembly constituency. He is the Vice-Chairman of Bastar Development Authority. He has the status of a minister of state, but the living and clothing of the family are quite normal. 

MLA Santram Netam presented his performance as Kumbhakaran, brother of Ravana. When Kumbhakaran reached to perform, everyone thought that some common man was taking part in the custom. Like every year Kumbhakaran used to give his performance in the same way this time also he was acting. In the end, when Kumbhakaran was killed and Shri Ram removed his mask, people came to know that this is not a common man but MLA Santram Netam. Congratulating everyone on Vijayadashami, MLA Santram Netam expressed his gratitude to the committee for participating in the program and giving him a chance to become Kumbhakaran.
